Firstly I would like to start by thanking each and every one of our members for their continued support over the last 4 weeks, as a small family business (albeit in a large building) we really wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the loyalty of our amazing members.
Secondly, as we look forward to re-opening our doors on Wednesday 2nd December, we can at last look forward to the New Year where life could start to steadily return to normal. 2020, what a year it has been for us all! None of us would have foreseen such unprecedented disruption to everyday life and normality.
In a year of such precedence, health and wellbeing has never been as important and the message as strong. There is no area in life where exercise does not improve both physical and mental health in multiple ways, being active is central to health.
Whilst some members may have increased the amount of exercise they do, which is wonderful, for others it has been a time where levels of exercise have reduced during the Corona virus lockdowns. The good news is that there is now light at the end of this COVID tunnel through the scientific developments for a potential vaccination programme.
Exercise is the single, simplest and most important thing people can do to improve their physical and mental health. Covid-19 has damaged our activity levels and as we await the roll-out of a vaccine, we must seize this moment to place physical activity at the heart of our community renewal, by ensuring every one of our 3-1-5 family are fully engaged and benefitting from a healthy active lifestyle.
It’s great to be re-opening our doors on Wednesday and, whilst we can’t at the current juncture offer our extensive range of classes in the normal manner (please see ‘Tier 3 What This Means For Me’), we are doing everything we can to ensure additional training zones for your enjoyment, and we hope normal programming will resume after the 16th December once the tiers are re-assessed.
We look forward to warmly welcoming you all back to YOUR Club next week.
As ever, stay safe and continue to look out for each other.
Tier 3 – What Does This Mean For Me?
We are pleased to say that, due to the size of our club and the fantastic measures we put in place after the first lockdown, many areas of the club will be unaffected by the latest tier 3 restrictions. From using the gym floor to the pools, saunas and steam rooms our previous Covid secure status hasn’t changed and therefore these can be utilised in the same safe way.
One area that unfortunately has been adversely affected is our ability to run group exercise classes to those over the age of 18. We are currently in discussions with both the EHO and local MPs as the guidance on exceptions to this is not fully clear and we believe that these can be run safely.
In the interim we will be setting up our studios to facilitate members who wish to train in them with the appropriate equipment or space required. We will host a timetable of virtual sessions on our TV screens in and around the club that should you wish to take part in you can follow. Instructors will be on hand to offer guidance support or encouragement. As numbers are limited in the studios and to facilitate a track and trace this will be on a bookings basis. We hope to have the full timetable of these sessions available for you to view and to book before we reopen next Wednesday.
On a routine Environmental Health audit prior to our doors closing we received some excellent feedback on our Covid secure processes, one of the areas that they were particularly impressed with was the Fit4Access programme that 3-1-5 is a part of. This scheme really does help ensure the welfare and safety of all of our members and team, and so to save yourself time and inconvenience on your first visit please can you ensure that you have a valid Fit4Access pass before returning to the club. To renew or set up your pass, please follow this link. If you want to know more please see here.
We thank you as always.
Your 3-1-5 Team
