We will be at 315’s National Fitness Day to promote Breast Screening, answer any questions you may have about screening, and we will have some resources and leaflets on general breast awareness. Breast Screening is for eligible women aged 50 to 70 (before their 71st birthday) who are registered with a GP Practice. Women will receive an invitation to attend for a breast screening mammogram, once every three years, through the NHS Breast Screening Programme. Eligible women will receive their first invitation before their 53rd birthday. Breast screening can detect breast cancer that is at an early stage when it cannot be seen or felt, and this early detection can save lives and may mean simpler and more successful treatment.

CancerCare is a local charity which has been providing free professional therapy to people dealing with the effects of cancer, life-shortening illness, and bereavement for over 40 years. We offer a wide variety of services including 1-to-1 counselling, complementary treatments such as reflexology, aromatherapy, and creative and physical therapy groups.
