KIDS IN MOTION
Thursday 24th September 2020
By the time they reach high school, 63 percent of children are no longer physically active. Why?
If your kids fall within this group, you don’t have to shake your head sadly. You can set a good example, be a role model and do the right things so your kids will, too.
Get off the couch and on a bike with your kids. Introduce them to exercise that’s fun. Once you get kids moving in the direction of fitness, chances are they’ll keep going for the rest of their lives.
Start ‘em young
Did you know that physically active children have fewer chronic health problems than kids who are sedentary?
Children who are fit have other statistics in their favour too. They’re better able to meet the demands of daily physical activity. They do better in physical-performance tests. They have a stronger selfimage and more self-confidence, and they demonstrate greater improvement in skill- and health-related fitness.
When you consider the facts, it makes good sense to encourage physical activity when your children are young. Parents, teachers and fitness professionals all have a role to play. Each can help kids think positively about exercise and motivate them to make regular physical activity a lifetime pursuit.
Check out our programme of events below for the kids.
In addition to this there will be Scuba Tasters from our partners MAD (Morecambe Area Divers) between 4pm to 6.15pm which are 15 minute tasters.
Kids In Motion Swimming the Pathways of the Stingrays
Starting at birth your little one can enter the world of the Stingray Journey with us here at 3-1-5. Here the adventure will begin, learning the basics and building confidence in the water. Not only is this a great time to introduce your little one to our warm lagoons but also a fantastic activity to bond and create special memories with your little one. Flying through the water through our programmes, learning to swim indecently, learn water safety and skills that will last a lifetime, our programme allows your child to develop into an active young adult with a life skill they will never lose.
Swimming is truly one of the greatest gifts you can give your child. Although it doesn’t stop there, opening a world of opportunity in the water…we offer a wide range of programmes from scuba diving to swim squad, lifesaving and stroke techniques. Nowhere else in the North West of England offers a programme like our Scuba RAYgners, learning and gaining a young adult scuba diving award, taking your skills into the unknown, trips out to Capernwray and into the lakes, a real unique opportunity we are so lucky to have in our area.
We also very proudly partnered up with Fit4access a new online platform to help provide greater safety and reassurance to everyone in our centre throughout these uncertain times. Screening will take place upon entry for the safety of all our visitors and members alike.
