This cold and wintery last few days saw an amazing array of events running in the hub of 3-1-5 Health Club.
The fun started on Thursday with a fizz fuelled press night opening of OMM Centre Lancaster, a new retail and events unit based within 3-1-5.
OMM organise the Original Mountain Marathon, a two day navigation and mountain running event run in pairs across some of the most demanding terrain imaginable.
They also manufacture the clothing, equipment and accessories necessary to take part in these events and for a wide range of other fast and light activities in the mountains.
OMM’s range of clothing and equipment is recognised as a world-leader in leanweight innovation and performance and we have now brought all the experience and knowledge of our events and kit to a new hub; The OMM Centre Lancaster.
OMM’s aim is to bring runners a hub for advice and information; whether you’re new to the sport, a first time competitor or a veteran of our events, we hope to provide a space for runners to come and discuss all aspects of kit, training and competing.
Continuing the official opening to the public happened on Saturday lunchtime with a brisk 10k run OMM run leader and store manager, James Gray said ‘We had a great bunch along for a tour of the backlanes and bridleways that Lancaster has to offer, followed by obligatory sandwiches and cakes, Thanks to all that came along and braved the chill. Don’t forget we currently run every Tuesday evening from the OMM Centre at 7pm’

Our long term partners Lancaster Race Series held a very chilly 5k and 10k also on Saturday from the club.
They would like to pass on their thanks to all the volunteers who gave up their time on what was possibly the coldest day of the year!
Maureen Roberts from Lancaster Runners can be seen here receiving her prize. Maureen started running later in life however hasn’t missed a local race in two years!
Maureen always celebrates her success with a nutritious meal at Replenish Café after all the 3-1-5 races.
Congratulations Maureen and to all the racers! You can find details of all future races and winners from each event here.
The final event of the weekend was the Lean body systems Strong man/woman comp. Crowds fled through the doors to watch the 2nd Annual weight lifting competition arranged by Josh Lancaster, owner of Lean Body Systems.
Josh said ‘ We have such a great support network at Lean Body Systems with so many giving up their weekends to help with organising and supporting the athletes.
It’s great to see how people are inspired to participate in events they would never dream of. We are creating world champions alongside inspiring many others to become coaches themselves. Thanks to everyone who participated or supported. Please don’t hesitate to contact me (Josh Lancaster) directly via Lean Body Systems Facebook page to help with any queries/advice around competing’
Due to the success of the event Josh is planning further weightlifting competitions later in the year and we are honoured to host them within the Club.
